Find out more about OEM and Aftermarket Products

If you’ve done some research on modifying vehicles, you’ve probably seen the term “OEM.” Maybe you don’t know what it means. The problem is that the more you read about “OEM” the more ways you see people use this term.

Let’s start off with some things such as OES. OES stands for Original Equipment Supplier. This is pretty much the same as OEM, which means Original Equipment Manufacturer. Notice the distinction between both of these.

Vehicle manufacturers don’t create the parts; they get the parts from specific manufacturers, such as Brembo, VDO, Stealth Auto, etc. So in other words, Stealth Auto is the OEM/OES for parts. The parts are then shipped to the vehicle manufacturer and placed onto the vehicle.

When the car is bought and the part needs to be replaced, they either go to the dealer to buy the original part, which is manufactured by the OEM. They can also search for the specific part in the aftermarket world as an OEM. Sometimes if you buy the part from the aftermarket industry, the box can be different. No need to worry. This is the same part, but at times the packaging is different due to contracts where a manufacturer isn’t allowed to distribute under the name of the auto place. Sometimes you can even save up to 60% off by doing it this way.

One last thing you can do is to find a generic version of the part in the aftermarket. There are several manufacturers that make an exact replica that’s just as good as the name brand. Just remember though that there are times that the exact replica isn’t as good and doesn’t have the same quality as the original. It’s best to stay with the name brands so you don’t get ripped off. Do your homework before purchasing, because there are other knock off versions that are just as good.

You can also find aftermarket parts from other companies that offer nothing but aftermarket products. Just remember to also do your homework before buying from aftermarket companies. Most of the aftermarket companies out there are good and do offer quality parts.

Stealth Auto is one company that offers quality parts and is there to offer customer satisfaction. Not only will Stealth Auto offer quality parts, but they’ll answer any questions that you may have too. By phone, or by email, there’s always somebody there to help you with all of your wants and needs.

To kick off the New Year, you may have been working on modifying your vehicle to get it bumping for when the weather gets better. Whether it’s modifications, such as HID Headlights, Clear Corners, Chrome Bulbs, or DPE Wheels, we have it all for you.

So would DPE Wheels be right for you ride? There are a few different manufacturers out there and each one has various options and styles to choose from. If you’re looking to add new wheels, you’re probably looking at $2,000-$6,000 for a killer pair of wheels.

DPE Wheels are well known in the modification circles because they are the best wheels that money can buy. Located in Southern California, DPE Wheels are made out of the best quality forged T6-6061 aircraft aluminum and has a unique and original design that will help your vehicle stand out above the rest.

To find the perfect DPE Wheels for your vehicle, you need to consider the style of wheels you want, the size of the wheels and the finish.

As for the style, there are 3 different sizes, two piece, the three piece and the monoblock aluminum wheels. DPE Wheels created different series for these, which are the R Series, the GT/LS Series and the Signature Series.

When it comes to the wheels, several people prefer getting the larger wheels, such as 18 inches and bigger. The bigger the size, the more expensive the wheels can get. Be sure to keep in mind that the front and back wheels are different sizes. Also be sure to consider the brakes when choosing the size of the rim.

Find Brembo Brake Pads at a discount

If you’ve been considering adding Brembo Brake Pads to your vehicle, you’ve come to the right place. Brembo offers all sorts of different brakes on just about any budget. If you’ve done some research, you’ll see that there is the Sport System, which has cross drilled or slotted discs and is used as a direct replacement for OEM components. There is also the Gran Turismo system where you can upgrade all of the corner brake assembly. The Gran Turismo brake kit combines a mix of 4 piston aluminum calipers with performance brake pads, fixed mount, steel brake lines and directionally vented discs.

The Turismo System will give you maximum braking power to increase the stopping distances and reduce brake fade. The Turismo Brake Kit is an excellent answer for vehicles that have bigger aftermarket wheels and tires.

Brembo Brakes have put together exclusive software that is used to design every brake system. Each vehicle has their own blueprint and demands in performance that has to be considered when creating a high performance braking system.

Brakes are critical to have for all vehicles. That’s why we recommend that brakes should be installed by a competent mechanic in a professional environment. Installing brakes incorrectly could cause huge problems in safety and could result in accidents. If you don’t know how to install brakes, you should not attempt to install yourselves. If you’re reading up on how to install brakes to your vehicle, you really should consult a mechanic.

It is advised that Brake Pads should be replaced when about 1/8” to 3/16” of friction material remains on the steel plate. The rotors need to be replaced before they have reached the part of being worn out. Drilled and slotted rotors cannot be turned and need to be replaced if they are scored.

We offer Brembo Brake Kits at a discount of 10%. As far as I’ve seen, there are no places on the internet where you can find a discount like this. With the 10% you can save on Brembo Brake Pads you could use that money to add other modifications to your vehicle. Brembo Brakes don’t come cheap, so finding an offer as good as this doesn’t come around too often.

Click on the banner below to find out how to receive your 10% discount.

Why Brembo?

Get the facts on Brembo Brakes and check out some of the common questions asked about Brembo.

Brembo Brakes began in Bergamo Italy back in 1961. Brembo became a big name for braking systems for high performance vehicles and motorcycles. In the beginning, Brembo imported disc brakes from the U.K., but then worked out a deal with Alfa Romeo. In the 80’s, Brembo began adding their brake system to BMW’s, Mercedes Benz, Porsche and many more. Brembo is an extremely reliable product due to them controlling the entire production system, such as distribution and even up to raw materials.

Some of the common questions Brembo gets about brakes are, should big brakes be installed on all four wheels, or just the front? When you brake, the brakes in the front do most of the work. If the brakes aren’t designed the right way, adding a big brake system to the back of the vehicle could actually result in adding unstable conditions to your vehicle. Brembo does offer rear brakes for only certain high performance vehicles.

Brembo actually offers different kinds of brakes for different budgets. There is the Sport System, which includes cross drilled or slotted discs and is the direct replacement for the OEM components. There is also the Gran Turismo system, which will upgrade your complete corner brake assembly. This kit combines fixed mount, 4 piston aluminum calipers equipped with performance brake pads, steel braided brake lines and 2 piece directionally vented discs.

Brembo goes out of their way to test and rid of unusual brake noises from their systems. There are plenty of factors that could contribute to brake noises, but it is very unlikely that a Brembo Brake System will create and noises. If you’re not comfortable installing brakes to your vehicle, it is highly advises to consult a professional to install the brakes for you.

Why does Brembo use larger discs than others? Because braking causes heat. The more heat the disc can take, the greater the fade resistance of the system. The usage of large discs results in larger effective radius. This increases their brake torque.

You might be wondering how long do Brembo discs last? It varies depending on several factors, such as the weight of the vehicle, the style of driving, how much you use the vehicle, the brake pad material and much more.

We offer a variety of Brembo Braking Systems. If you purchase Brembo Brakes from the link below, we will show you how to save up to 10% on your purchase.

Learn more about Brembo Brakes and how to add them to your vehicle.

If you’re reading this, there may be a chance that you’re not completely happy with your stock brakes. If you plan on doing any significant performance driving, it would be a good idea to upgrade your brakes to Brembo Brakes.

Brembo Brake Kits aren’t cheap, but you really need to consider the fact that these kits includes the cost of a caliper rebuild, new brake lines, and new disks, the cost of this becomes a little more reasonable.

Some of the benefits that you’ll find in a new Brembo Brake System are:

You’ll have over 20-30% shorter distances depending on the road conditions. The faster you’re driving, the greater the improvements.

Better consistency when it comes to stopping. Your standard brake system can stop a vehicle very well a couple times, but once the brake fluid begins to heat up, the performance decreases, which means the stops get longer. With Brembo Brakes, they will give your vehicle consistent stops.

Bigger brake disks cause heat, which may cause the brakes to fail. Each component in Brembo Brakes is designed for performance, which uses the proper cooling of the system. Brembo brakes are better equipped to prevent overheating than your standard stock brakes.

With Brembo Brakes, you’ll be able to brake harder and still keep control. This big brake system works extremely well with the BMW Anti Lock Brake System.

The big brake kits usually only come with the equipment to replace the front brakes. The reason why is because front brakes perform about 80% of the stopping motion. If you added high performance brakes in the back of your vehicle, the brakes could actually cause the rear brakes to lock up too soon. This may result in losing control of your vehicle.

Brembo Brakes is one of the leading brake system manufacturers in the world and is also an OEM supplier to some of the best cars on the market, such as Ferrari and Porsche.

The Brembo Monoblock Kit includes everything that you would need for the installation process. This kit includes 2 calipers, 2 brake lines, 2 rotors, 2 brackets and 2 sets of pads and clips. You can have their calipers painted in black or red. It’s too bad that Brembo’s are hidden behind the wheel. Brembo Brakes always means top performance.

If you have the Brembo Monoblock Kit, be sure to plan ahead and make sure that your car has 17” wheels or larger. Not all 17” wheels will allow the calipers to fit, so be sure that your wheel combination will work with this brake system. We strongly advise that if you’re not completely comfortable with adding your own brakes to your vehicle, consult an auto mechanic. Brakes are important and we want our readers to stay safe.

So now you want to install the new brake system. First thing you’ll want to do is loosen the lug nuts on your wheels and raise the front of the vehicle. You should also raise the back of your vehicle just to check your rear brakes too.

Now be sure to remove both front wheels. Now with the wheels off, disconnect the brake pad sensor. Disconnect the brake caliper. Be sure to tie the caliper up so it’s out of the way, but don’t disconnect the brake lines yet. Be sure that there is no tension on the brake lines. You don’t want to make it a habit to hang the caliper by the brake hose. Now go ahead and remove the bracket that holds the caliper onto the strut.

You’ll want to remove the screw that holds the brake disk to the hub. The disk should slip right off. If it doesn’t, you might have to tap it with a small rubber mallet. Depending on the vehicle, you might have to remove your anti-lock brake sensor dust shield. Some of the shields are put on there with bolts, while others may press fitted or riveted and may possibly have to be cut off. Be sure to clean up and dust or debris in this area too.

Once you have the dust shield taken off, your strut should go back together. Now take the Brembo caliper mounting bracket and put it onto the strut assembly.

Once you have the bracket in place, add the rotor on the spindle. There is a left and right rotor and they are usually stamped to avoid confusion. Use the brake disk locating and mounting bolt to secure the disks to the hub. The holes need to line up with the spindle. You can use a spare lug nut to hold them into place temporarily.

The brake pads should already be assembled in the caliper, but if not, remove the 2 pins by tapping them out with a little hammer. Then you insert the pads and replace the pins. Then it’s time to add the new caliper to the mounting bracket. When you mount the calipers to the spindle, you will always want the arrows pointing up.

Before you disconnect the brake lines, try fitting your wheel back on to make sure that you have no problems when the wheel is completely mounted. Take the caliper and cover it with a piece of tape to make sure you don’t scrape up the paint while putting on your wheel. Tighten down the lug nuts and spin the wheel. Make sure the wheels don’t scrape or rub up against the other brakes.

Once you know that the wheels turn without a problem, take the tires off again and attach the brake hose to the caliper. You’ll route the brake line into the rubber grommet that secures it to the strut.

Disconnect the rubber hose fro the steel hard line that attaches the hose to the braking system. Use a flare nut wrench and not a steel hard line to the hose. Quickly add the new lines so brake fluid doesn’t lead out. Once you have them attached, clean up the spilled brake fluid. Make sure you remove it from the paint as soon as possible. Brake fluid is actually not good for the paint. Once you complete the install, you’ll need to bleed the brakes. Once you bleed the brakes, put the wheels back on, lower the vehicle and tighten the lug nuts.

Now for the fun part! The brake system needs to be broken in. Pump the brakes several times and make sure that you have firm pressure on the brakes. Try holding the brakes while someone tries to push the car.

Now drive the car to a deserted spot and try about 20 stops from with light pressure on the brakes. This is going to increase the temperature of the brake pads, the caliper and the rotors. This helps with the pads and brakes. Now drive around without using the brakes to let the pads cool off. Remember to use your emergency brakes in case if something goes wrong.

Now pull over and check out the brake disks. They should look blue/gray across the pads. If the pads aren’t this color, continue stopping and going until the pads are at this color all the way through.

Find out how to install HID Headlights to your vehicle

HID Headlights are the best lighting option that you can possibly find. HID Bulbs produce brighter light that enables drivers to see better than regular headlights. Newer cars are now offering HID lights as the standard lighting. Because of the advantages of HID Bulbs, there are several HID lights that you can install to your vehicle. Some of the things you need to do before buying HID Headlights are to do your homework. Make sure that you get HID Headlights that won’t get you pulled over by the Police. Because HID Lights are brighter than standard bulbs, some local areas have passed laws that prohibit these lights. Check with your local DMV to find out if adding these are OK. Also make sure that your HID lights are aimed the right way and also be sure to keep your lights at 6000k-8000k.

Now that you know what sort of HID Bulbs to get, let’s get to installing them to your vehicle. First, you will need items, such as:

• Phillips Screwdriver

• A Drill

• ½” Socket and/or 10MM Socket

• 1/8” Drill Bit

• Wire Cutters

• Electrical Tape

• Allen Wrench to adjust the Headlights

• A Ratchet

• ¾” Metal Screws

• Rubber Glove to prevent touching the HID Light with your bare hands

To begin, be sure to remove the battery cover and disconnect the battery. Then you need to take the battery out of the vehicle. Be sure to find the rubber boot that’s behind the head light and remove it. You will find a ring that holds the light bulb into place. Remove the ring by turning it clockwise.

Now it’s time to put your rubber gloves on. After you have them on your hands, remove the bulb by pulling it back. Cut four wires at about 2 feet each. Carefully cut the wire and crimp the flat pin connector at one end of the 16 gauge wire. You will do this for all four wires. Then be sure to insert the wires into each of the light sockets. You need to make sure that the negative wire is added into the middle slot. The outer slots are used for high and low beams. Now use some electrical tape in order to place the wires into place. Then be sure to slide the plastic ring through the new bulb. Slide the bulb into the headlight and turn the ring clockwise in order to place the bulb into position. Get the double sided tape that should of came with the kit and attach the mounting bracket to the ballast.

Now get the 1/8” drill bit and drill a hold into the fender wall. You’ll now use a Phillips Screwdriver and ¾” screw to mount the ballast into position. Now that you have one finished, it’s time to do the other one.

Be sure to connect the wire harness to the 16 gauge wires that come from the head light sockets. Be sure to plug in the wire harness to the ballast. Tape up and exposed wiring that may be showing. Now it’s time to plug the wires in that lead from the HID Bulbs to the ballast. Tuck away any extra wire and use wire ties to secure them into place.

Now just put the battery back into your vehicle and test them out. I would suggest that you park your vehicle in front of a wall and check the lights to see if they’re aimed in the right direction. Use an Allen wrench to adjust the vertical adjusters.

We hope that these installation techniques will help.

Just because you’re adding modifications to your ride doesn’t necessarily mean that you must follow the same trends that others are doing. Depending on your vehicle, you could research the techniques that others have been doing to their vehicles all around the world. Just remember that the less modifications you make the better.

Let’s talk about installing Chrome Bulbs to your vehicle. Chrome Bulbs are silver looking bulbs that blend in to Clear Corner Lenses on the blinker of your vehicle. Instead of adding an ugly looking yellow bulb to your blinkers, Chrome Bulbs almost look invisible and blink yellow when activated. There are several Chrome Bulbs on the market today, but the best bulbs on the market are through Stealth Auto. The bulbs that have been created by Stealth Auto were designed by a former employee of NASA and are definitely the best bulbs around.
